Medical Adult Day Care
Medical Adult Day Care is the most affordable senior care option available for families seeking high-level medical care and supervision for their loved one in an environment that also supports stimulating social activities. Based in Huntington, West Virginia, the Tri-State LifeCare AdultDay Program uniquely provides these services, plus a wide array of other special amenities – all under one roof.
Tri-State LifeCare’s AdultDay program is a weekday service designed for older adults who could benefit from daily healthcare monitoring and peer socialization in a safe and secure environment. Our program is different from other traditional senior day care programs in that we are a medical adult day care with the ability to provide more advanced medical services to participants who may require them. While receiving necessary medical care, participants can engage with peers, participate in group/individual therapeutic activities and enjoy other amenities.
Medical Services
Medical services are delivered in coordination with the participant’s primary care provider and can involve a nurse practitioner or PA, therapist and other medical staff as needed. A nurse is always on-site along with supervised care aides who are trained by Tri-State LifeCare. Medical services can include:
- Medication administration & monitoring
- Dressing changes
- Physical, speech & occupational therapy
- Dietary counseling
- Alzheimer’s and dementia-specific programs
Social Activities
Our program offers a wide range of stimulating social activities organized by our activities coordinator. A calendar of events is always available to participants and caregivers. Activities can include:
- Arts and crafts
- Exercise & therapeutic activities
- Educational programming
- Mental stimulation games
- Music & other live entertainment
- Holiday & birthday celebrations
Other Amenities
Other program amenities include:
- Laundry services
- Massage therapy
- Personal grooming (showering & shaving)
- Hairdressing & barber services
- Manicure & pedicure services
- Access to a licensed social worker
Note that some services listed may incur an additional charge and/or be billable to insurance.
Nutrition
The center provides a daily hot meal and snacks. The weekly menu and service of meals and snacks is overseen by a registered dietician.
Transportation
Transportation to and from the center can be provided by the family, caregiver or arranged through other resources.
Participant Benefits
AdultDay services offer many benefits to participants including improved cognitive skills, increased alertness, improved mobility, improved nutrition and decreased feelings of isolation. At the same time, the program helps reduce stress for caregivers and offers temporary relief from the physical and mental obligations of caring for a loved one.

- Temporary Caregiver relief is needed

Covering the Cost
Cost of services can be paid for by private pay, long-term care insurance, VA benefits or Medicaid ADW.

The Tri-State LifeCare AdultDay Center is located at 8 Stonecrest Drive in Huntington, WV. Our newly renovated facility is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
How to Get Started
Call us at 304.399.0225 to speak with a team member. To begin services, our staff will make an appointment to meet with the participant and family/support to discuss the services available and then determine the needs/desires of the participant. At that time, a schedule for visits will also be determined. Center tours are available upon request.
